Human Capital CEO Joins the Board of Marian House

CEO Milton Hall has been elected to the Board of Directors of Marian House in Baltimore City. Marian House is a transitional and supportive housing program that serves homeless women and their families. Marian House women are often victims of poverty, abuse, addiction, mental illness and incarceration. "This is an exciting opportunity to give back and demonstrate social responsibility to the broader community", says Hall.

February 2010 Job Reports - Unemployment Drops to 9.7%

The Department of Labor released the February 2010 jobs report and the employment news is looking up. The number of employees downsized for the month was reduced to 36,000, as compared to 726,000 downsized 12 months prior. Since the recession began in December 2007, more than 8.2 million people have joined the unemployment rolls. However, there is additional favorable news on employment. One sector that has been adding new labor is Temporary Services - adding an estimated 48,000 jobs in February.

Human Capital Announces Move to New Office

NOVEMBER 1, 2009 - Human Capital Consultants announced today its plans to grow the staff and move to a new larger office space. Effective December 1, 2009, Human Capital will move to 6021 University Blvd, Suite 140 in Ellicott City, MD. All of the existing phone and fax numbers, and email addresses will remain the same.

Stimulus Bill affects Employer COBRA Administration

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, signed into law on February 17, 2009 affects how employers administer COBRA coverage for workers. The legislation requires employers to assist workers involuntarily laid off with subsidizing COBRA cost for a period of 9 months. “This is landmark legislations and it extends temporary support to those laid off – yet still need affordable healthcare coverage” noted Milton Hall, President & CEO of Human Capital Consultants.
